MAC OS 10.6 SNOW LEOPARD
Apple is preparing to release a new version of Mac OS X, called Snow Leopard. The OS will be available on August 28th, 2009, and will include some awesome new features, like a faster Finder, updated 64-bit applications, minor UI changes, the all-new Quicktime X, improved iChat, and overall speed boosts!
Apple has made upgrading very simple, but in case you're still a little confused, here's our Snow Leopard Buyers Guide!
Please Note: Snow Leopard will only run on Macs with Intel processors. If you have an old Mac with a PowerPC processor, you can not run Snow Leopard.
For Leopard (Mac OS 10.5) users:
If your Mac is running Mac OS X Leopard (10.5), you can purchase Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6) on August 28th for the low price of $29.99!
If you purchased your Mac after June 8, 2009, and it did not come with Snow Leopard, you can upgrade to Snow Leopard on August 28th for just $9.95!
If you have multiple Macs in your house, you can purchase the Snow Leopard Family Pack, which allows you to install Snow Leopard on up to 3 Macs for just $49.99.

For Tiger (Mac OS 1.4) users:
If you're still running Mac OS X Tiger (10.4), and you wish to upgrade to Snow Leopard, you'll have to buy the Mac Box Set, which includes Snow Leopard, iLife 09, and iWork 09. The Box Set will be available on August 28th for $169.99, a steal considering that iLife and iWork each cost $99 separately.
How do I know which version of Mac OS X I currently have?
It's very easy to check! Click on the Apple logo in the top left corner of your screen. Then click on "About This Mac", and a box will pop up displaying your current Mac OS version number.
